We were looking for a place to get some lunch and found this gem. We had the Matamoros street tacos and they did not disappoint. They were delicious. We also ordered the menudo and it was flavorful and so good. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
This has been my favorite taqueria in Weslaco since 1997. The tacos and papas are amazing and the proprietor has recently begun delving into serving Mexican street hot dogs!
Ok, I was going to question a few of the negative reviews, but think I'll go positive instead. Do y'all realize this place serves Frog Legs! Have I convinced you? Ok, they are less than $10 served with a watery salad, frozen fries and white rice. Don't eat anything but the Frog Legs and you've scored. Oh, I usually ask to grill the Frog Legs and omit the heavy garlic. I have been observed eating the rice with salsa topping. This place serves Frog Legs!
One of the best taquerías in the Rio Grande Valley. Service was really good, we were seated and served right away. The frijoles tasted freshly-made, the baked potato was soft, full of butter, cheese, crema and bacon bits. By the time you get your tacos, you're almost full. I ordered the tacos mixtos (fajita and tripa, which needed to be crispy), con todo (cebolla cruda y asada and cilantro) and added aguacate, and everything was really good. The salsas were tasty and not extremely hot, and the lemonade could have done with less sugar, but otherwise, the experience was fulfilling and enjoyable. Going to this place is extremely recommended, especially is you're looking for real Mexican tacos, and for the price, is a great deal.
Tasty, large portions, crunchy chips, different salsas that are perfect for whatever mood you are feeling, and fast. Service is (mostly in spanish but they do speak english) and it's efficient and solid. The ambiance gives off practicality so it's perfect if you are just looking for good quick and reasonable/cheap food. The place has a small parking lot and street parking also exists
